Escape to Portmeirion

We took a lovely long weekend trip to North Wales last weekend, as we had booked ourselves a glamping escape. I've never been glamping before this - but let's just say that going regular camping will be very hard now! We stayed at Hideaway in the Hills, in Snowdonia, and it was absolutely magical.

My First Rugby Game

Last weekend, the husband and I took a little train journey down to Twickenham to watch Wales vs England! I was slightly apprehensive as this was my first live rugby game, and let's be real - I thought I'd be bored within the first 5 minutes. I'm not really a "sport" person. I don't watch 'em, I don't play 'em, and I certainly don't understand 'em.

But this day was so much fun! A real British experience if you ask me. (And you know I love those)

A Day in Oxford

This past Easter weekend, the husband and I decided to stay home and truly relax. It was a weekend of spring cleaning, cooking, and watching films. It was beautiful. We also took advantage of the 4-day weekend to check off one of the many UK cities on my bucket list and visit Oxford!

Pembrokeshire Highlights

We were probably most excited about showing my parents the countryside that is Pembrokeshire, because that is where the husband is from. They have heard countless stories about the castles, seaside towns, and welsh pubs, so it's safe to say we were really excited to show them a different part of the UK.

St Davids and the Blue Lagoon

Last June, my cousin Sarah came and stayed with us over the span of two weeks. We took her down to Wales for a 3-day weekend, and saw a few of the wonderful sights that the boyfriend's home country offers. While I love exploring new cities and countries, Wales does hold a special place in my heart. We took her to St Davids, the smallest city in Britain.

Pembrokeshire: Dale

I completely forgot that these pictures were ready to upload! During the Christmas break, I was suffering from cabin fever - there's only so many days you can spend cooped up inside! The boyfriend decided to take me to Dale, a tiny little village with some amazing scenery.

Stratford-Upon-Avon: The Shakespeare Town

The boyfriend and I went exploring in Stratford-upo-Avon the other day. It's known as the birthplace of Shakespeare and is the cutest little English town I have seen! I absolutely loved it. There are a lot of cultural things to do, such as the Royal Shakespeare Company, the MAD museum, and the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust.

Birmingham Comiccon & Memorabilia Show

A few saturdays ago, the boyfriend and I decided to go to the Birmingham Comiccon & Memorabilia show, and it was a great day out! In the grand scheme of things, we should have planned better, but we still enjoyed ourselves very much. We got there around 1 pm, thinking we'd buy some ticket and be in quickly. Boy, were we mistaken - why don't you click ahead and see what happened?

Milford Perk Diner

The boyfriend and I actually spent last weekend up in Pembrokeshire for a good country break, and it was great. We didn't get up to much, mostly catching up with old friends and enjoying a pint at his favourite pub. I had a huge craving for pancakes, and if you've ever been to Pembrokeshire, you'll know variety in food is not common. I can have an English Breakfast everywhere I go, but finding pancakes was a little difficult. We were recommended this lovely little dinner in Milford Haven - Milford Perk Diner.

Nostalgia & Comics

A few weeks ago, the boyfriend and I decided to explore a little bit of Birmingham, since we never go into the city centre that often. He didn't want to go to a clothing store, while I didn't want to go to a video game shop - so we settled on finding a comic book store in Birmingham. After a quick google search, I found the address for Nostalgia & Comics. After a quick drive we entered the store, and wow! I was so impressed.

Moda Exhibition

I managed to snag two visitors tickets to the Moda exhibition. It's the biggest UK trade show, showcasing over 1450 brands and their newest collection for the next year. As it is a trade show, you can't purchase anything, only visit. Plus, everything is being sold at a super low price, since stores then sell it at the RRP which is usually a lot higher. For example, I saw a beautiful beaded dress price at £30, but it's RRP was £80! How crazy is that? It makes you realize how much the things you buy might actually be worth when initially both in large quantities by a certain store. Click below to see more since there are a lot of pictures!

Staffordshire's Monkey Forest

It was my first weekend off from work, so the boyfriend and I finally got to go to the Monkey Forest in Staffordshire. To be honest, we were completely blown away. I thought that it might be the kind of place where you walk around and maybe spot a monkey if you're lucky, à la Jurassic Park, but it was so much better! We got to see so many barbary macaques, as they have about 140 of them in the park. They also have six baby monkeys, one of which was born on the day we went! Anyway, this post is super photo heavy, so click below to see what we got up to.

The Woodmans Rest

Every Friday night, the boyfriend and I decide that we're too lazy to cook (it is the end of the week) and we either have a takeout or eat out. Last Friday, we decided to go to our local pub (how crazy is it that I have a local now?) and grabbed some delicious food. We've actually been to the Woodmans Rest a few times since it's a short walk from our flat, and I really like going there. The ambience is nice, the meals are incredibly affordable, and the pints are always a plenty.

Oakwood Theme Park

The boyfriend and I have been spending our last vacation days in Pembrokeshire, Wales with his family. It's been nothing but sun, pubs, and golf. After spending almost two weeks trying to get settled in, it was the perfect way to decompress. We decided to spend one day at Oakwood Theme Park, which is the only theme park in Wales! I had never been before, but the boyfriend had plenty of childhood stories that happened in this park. Anyway, this is a photo heavy post, so click below to see how we spent our day.

Eurotrip: Cardiff & The Doctor Who Experience

Warning, this post will contain a large amount of fan girl.

During my last trip to Wales, the boyfriend and I had a quick day trip to the lovely capital, Cardiff. It's probably one of my favourite cities in the entire world, it's so beautiful. Besides, where else do you find a castle that is centuries old in the middle of a city? It also has an insane shopping district where I could probably get lost for hours if someone let me. This is the kind of city I'd love to live in one day. It's our compromise, the boyfriend and I, because it's not too busy (like London) and not too small (perfect for me).
