Live Clean Shampoo & Conditioner

Today I want to talk to you guys about a very special brand called live clean. This is a Canadian brand that was introduced in 2007 as a hair care brand that focused on creating eco-friendly, highly effective products. They now do skin care, baby care, bath care, and lip care on top of their wide range of hair care.

Life Update: June

I can't believe it's almost been a month since I've moved to Birmingham. To be exact, I'm living in Solihull, a suburb area that is about thirty minutes away from Birmingham. Anyway, I thought it would be a good idea to check in with you guys and let you know what I've been up to!

Soap & Glory Mini Haul

While I've been in the UK for almost a month now (oh my god), I didn't get around buying any new makeup until this week. I finally caved and did some shopping at Boots to pick up some highly coveted makeup that I could never get back home in Canada. First up, these three goodies from Soap & Glory which were all inspired by essiebutton's latest Brand Focus, where she talked about her favourite products from the brand. They were on a 3 for 2 offer at Boots, so I got the One Heck of a Blot Powder, the Kickass Concealer, and the Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick

bareMinerals Matte Foundation

I never considered myself much a powder foundation girl. I have a lot of redness all over my face, oily skin, and general imperfections, so powder never seemed to be the right thing for me. I was always worried it wouldn't provide enough coverage and look cakey, which nobody wants. I gave it a try with the Tarte Amazonian Clay Airbrush Foundation but it didn't sit that well with me. It seemed to stick to the dry patches on my skin, and didn't provide the full coverage I wanted. Then, I got a sample pot of the bareMinerals Matte Foundation and that little pot lasted me well over a week! I was completely hooked, so I went ahead and purchased the full size pot.

Oakwood Theme Park

The boyfriend and I have been spending our last vacation days in Pembrokeshire, Wales with his family. It's been nothing but sun, pubs, and golf. After spending almost two weeks trying to get settled in, it was the perfect way to decompress. We decided to spend one day at Oakwood Theme Park, which is the only theme park in Wales! I had never been before, but the boyfriend had plenty of childhood stories that happened in this park. Anyway, this is a photo heavy post, so click below to see how we spent our day.

I Call It Home

Now I know a few of my friends have been dying to see what my new home looks like. I decided to give you guys a teeny house tour, because not everything is finished yet. I have a few ideas for decorating, but I'm waiting until I get a job until I start that. For now, the boyfriend and I have bought the necessities since we basically started from scratch with the new flat. It's a lovely house-like flat, and it's an extension of our landlord's home. It's very private and there is plenty of windows (which I personally love). Anyway, we live in a nice neighborhood, there's plenty of parks, a shop a mere 2 minutes away on foot, and a shopping center super close by. Above there is our tiny kitchen, where we've already been cooking delicious meals, such as paella and quesadillas. I'm a decent cook, but I always leave the biggest mess.

Airport Adventures

Moving to a new country can be a little scary, but nothing scared me more than the flight over there. There's just something about planes that makes me very angsty and nervous. Thankfully, my entire trip went as planned, there were no late flights (we even landed a bit earlier in NYC) and lost baggage. Plus, I didn't have to pay for my extra luggage, so score! I had a pretty long flight this time around, leaving Montreal at 11:45 am local time, landing in New York at 1:15 pm, then catching a flight to Shannon at 6:00 pm, landing at 6:00 am, only to wait an hour for a 7:00 am flight to Birmingham. Let's just say I had major jet lag on my first night and slept for a really long time. The one upside? I didn't have a return ticket, which only made the journey even better.

Mom's Birthday

Amidst all the work the boyfriend and I have been putting into setting up our new place here in Solihull, I haven't had much time to blog. So excuse me for a moment while I go through my "draft" queue and finally show you guys some older posts that never saw the light of day. These pictures are from my mom's birthday this year, which was also a bit of a going-away party for me. It was such a beautiful day, one of our first summer days, and I was super grateful to everyone who came.

Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipstick Duo & Tarte Amazonian Clay Airbrush Foundation

I've been going to Sephora more and more ever since I found out there wasn't one in the UK (how heartbreaking). I treated myself to two new things a few weeks ago when I was shopping with my cousin, but I only kept one. To be honest, I'm not sure if it was buyer's remorse or that the product simply didn't wow me enough for the price. Either way, I wanted to show you guys what I got and, most importantly, what I thought.
